Cub Scout Pack 157 Welcomes Kindergarteners to Lion Scouts! In examining developmental influences in children, BSA found that research demonstrated a child’s development accelerates between age 4 and 5 — right around kindergarten. This is also the time when families begin looking for after-school activities for their children. To provide the full scouting benefits to children at this age, for the first time in 2016, cub scouts now includes an introductory level for Kindergarteners called 'Lion Scouts'. Kindergarten-age boys will have the opportunity to enjoy the same positive and nurturing experiences as boys in grades 1 through 5, including regular meetings, special projects, outdoor activities, and much more. Lions promises to expand imaginations, spark creativity and amplify fun. At the end of the Lion year, boys will graduate to Tiger and advance through Cub Scouting. If you are interested in getting your son involved in Lion Scouts, please contact leaders Bill Malyszka at cubmaster@pack157.org or Kent Fullerton at kfullerton@pack157.org. |
